He is not the only Brentford player linked with a move. With Yohan Wissa, who has score 18 goals this season, also attracting interest from Nottingham Forest, who made a bid for him in January.
“I think Brian is likely to go,” Norgaard said in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports’ Jamie Weir.
“I don’t know about Wissa yet. Everyone hopes he stays. Whatever it is, I’m happy with this season and happy with both of them. They deserve it.”
However, the Brentford captain remains calm about the situation of Mbeumo and Wissa. As the Bees have sold stars and found good replacements in the past.
In the summer of 2020, Brentford sold Ollie Watkins. And Say Benrahma to Aston Villa and West Ham respectively for a combined £54m.
Last summer, they sold Ivan Toney. Who scored 20 league goals in the 2022-23 season, to Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia for £40m.
“I’m pretty calm about what’s going to happen with Brian and Wissa,” Norgaard added.
“A lot of questions are being asked about them. And you can almost feel the anxiety around the players when you talk about them potentially leaving us.”
“I was one of them when we lost Ollie Watkins, Said Benrahma, Ivan Toney and everything went on,”
“But the club has brought in Igor Thiago. Who is another great player and he will surely make a splash in the league.”
“When I don’t know, but I’m sure he’ll be ready. If Wissa leaves or Bryan leaves and there’s a change in the forward line. I think the club has a talent for bringing players in and they’re always two or three steps ahead.”
